Hicksville Historical Society salutes the Veterans

On May 26, 2009, the Hicksville Historical Society honored Hicksville Veterans at their meeting in the Hicksville Library. Society President Bob Koenig welcomed member Mark Thomas, as host, providing questions to ask our guest Veterans that night. Our five veterans that night, Michael Kilty (iraq), Richard Uhlick (Vietnam), Artie Uhlick (WWII), George Thomas (WWII), Sam Bergholtz (WWII) made for a diverse cross-section that made Mark's presentation so interesting. The Society heard tales of bravery, capture, and rescue that could have continued onto another night. Yet every Veteran showed mutual respect for each others tales. It was truly a moving meeting.
