September 22, 2009 meeting

Long Island Historical Miniature Collectors Society

The Long Island Historical Miniature Collectors Society (LIHMCS) is a group of artists and modelers

located in the New York City and Long island vicinity, devoted to creating, painting, collecting, studying,

and displaying miniature figures, whether they be soldiers, fantasy, Sci-Fi, all are included. Figures of all

forms are welcome and sought after, from Hollywood movie characters to the US Army Grunt or Knight in

armor. The focus is to teach new members the state of the art techniques of sculpting and painting

miniature models. Our club includes some of the top sculptors in the field, including some of the most

prolific GI Joe sculptors of the last twenty years. We Have many Master modelers and painters who look

to help newcomers improve and perfect their skills. All mediums are discussed, from oils to acrylics to

hobby enamels.
